Carmen Fernández

Position: Technical Architect at Universal Accessibility and Innovation Directorate, Fundacion ONCE.

Bio: Obtained her degree in Technical Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She began her career as construction manager for different public government and residential buildings. She has 23 years of experience working in the accessibility field carrying out different actions for the promotion of Universal Design and specific awareness and educational activities both on national and international levels. Fernandez has also been in charge of writing different publications, coordinating accessibility in architecture awards and organizing accessible events. She is part of the faculty of COAM’s Accessibility course and University of Jaen’s Master in Smart City Accessibility. The Global City.
